Privacy Policy
This policy describes what STACKOVIA actually collects today: newsletter and contact email, ordinary server logs, Google Analytics if you Accept cookies, and if you click a partner link data handled by that destination. It does not invent a DPO name or processors we have not confirmed.
Updated September 2026
What we collect
Newsletter email
If you subscribe to The Stackovia Brief, we store the address you submit so we can send the brief. You can ask to be removed by writing to hello@usestackovia.com.
Messages you send
If you email hello@, partners@, business@, or editorial@, we receive whatever you include in that message. There is no public contact form posting extra fields to our servers today.
Software Finder answers
The Finder runs in your browser. Answers are used to show a fit profile on that page. They are not sent to Stackovia servers in the current product.
Server logs
Hosting and the application may log technical data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs, as part of running and securing the site.
Google Analytics
If you choose Accept on the cookie notice, we load Google Analytics 4 to measure page views and how the public site is used. Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC process that data as our analytics provider. The script is not loaded if you choose Essential only.
Affiliate click-throughs
If a page later includes an affiliate or partner link and you follow it, the destination site and its network may collect data under their own policies. Stackovia does not control those cookies or that processing.
What we do not
- We do not run an advertising pixel on this site.
- We do not sell a mailing list.
- We do not ask the Finder to store your company name, payment details, or a user account.
- We do not invent a list of subprocessors. Google is named above as the analytics provider when you Accept.
Who is responsible
STACKOVIA is the organisation publishing this site, Sweden-first. Until a legal entity name and registration are published, privacy questions go to hello@usestackovia.com. We have not appointed a named Data Protection Officer on this page because that role has not been confirmed.
Why we process data, in plain terms
Newsletter: to send the brief you asked for. Contact email: to reply to what you sent. Logs: to operate, debug, and protect the site. Google Analytics: only if you Accept, to understand how the public site is used. Affiliate click-throughs: initiated by you, processed by the destination.
For readers in the EU/EEA, including Sweden, we intend this processing to rest on the obvious bases: your request (subscribe or email), consent for Google Analytics, and legitimate interest in running a secure website. That is a high-level description, not a substitute for counsel.
How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe or we close the list. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle the request and ordinary records. Server logs are kept for a short operational period, then rotated by hosting. Google Analytics retention follows the setting in the Google Analytics property.
Your rights
If GDPR applies to you, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Sweden, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten / IMY). Write to hello@usestackovia.com. We will need enough information to find your data typically the email you used.
Cookies and children
See the Cookie Policy for what this site sets. The public site is not directed at children. The publishing desk at /write uses a session cookie for editors; it is not a tracking product for visitors.
Changes
If collection changes, this policy will be updated. The date above is the latest version.
